Turn Floors Into Interactive Space
Use floors and defined spaces for movement-based interaction, games and immersive moments — people interact just by stepping in.
Floors are wasted interaction space
The floor is the biggest surface in most spaces — and usually the most passive. You want people to engage the moment they walk in, without handing out devices or crowding a single screen.
A LiDAR layer that tracks the space
OptiTUIO defines an interactive area on the floor and tracks people and movement inside it, turning steps and presence into input for your application.
Why teams choose interactive floors
Instant, intuitive engagement
No instructions needed — people interact by moving.
Crowd-friendly
Many visitors can take part at once in the same space.
Immersive atmosphere
Floors turn a stand or room into an experience, not a display.
Trigger anything
Movement can drive visuals, games, light or sound cues.

The right setup for your floor
Floor setups depend on the area size, ceiling/mounting options and the experience you want to trigger.
QHow does floor tracking work?
A LiDAR sensor defines an area and detects people and movement inside it; OptiTUIO turns that into input your application uses to trigger the experience.
QHow large can the floor area be?
From compact zones up to large areas — roughly up to 20–30 m with the right setup, and larger with multiple sensors after a technical review.
QDoes it work with crowds?
Yes — it's built for public, multi-user spaces. Very dense crowds can cause people to block each other (occlusion); we plan sensor placement around this.
QWhat do we need besides OptiTUIO?
A floor area, a LiDAR sensor, a Windows PC, the OptiTUIO software and an application that responds to the input.
